The Rise of Los Leones 7

This documentary was developed as part of the same sports media project, following the Spanish Men’s Rugby Sevens national team through their preparation and competition at the 2025 HSBC SVNS World Championship in Los Angeles.

I contributed across concept development, filming, and storytelling, working within a collaborative production environment to capture the intensity and demands of elite performance. My role involved engaging directly with athletes and staff to document both the competitive and behind-the-scenes aspects of the team.

With a background in sports media, communications, and broadcast environments, I approached the project with a balance of creativity and structure, focusing on delivering a perspective that reflects the pace, pressure, and discipline of the game.

About The Project

This documentary was developed as part of a broader sports media project following the Spanish Men’s Rugby Sevens national team in the lead-up to the 2025 HSBC SVNS World Championship in Los Angeles.

I was involved across the full production process, from concept development and filming to interviewing and storytelling, working closely within a small production team to capture both the competitive and behind-the-scenes aspects of the team.

The project focused on documenting the intensity of preparation and performance at the highest level, highlighting the discipline, pressure, and collective mindset that define elite rugby sevens.

Media & Campaign

As part of the project, a dedicated media identity was developed through Triple Dub Sports, a platform created to support and promote both documentaries. Content was produced across Instagram and TikTok to build engagement, extend reach, and create a consistent narrative around the teams and the project.

Research & Development

Alongside the production of both documentaries, a research paper was developed to analyze the creative, strategic, and production processes behind the project.

The paper explores storytelling in sports media, audience engagement, and the dynamics of working within elite sporting environments, serving as a foundation that informed the direction and execution of both films.
